As we continue to expand our operations nationwide, we are seeking a National HR Manager to lead our human resources initiatives and ensure our workforce is aligned with our company's vision and values.


Overall Job Purpose:


Reporting directly to the CFO, the National Human Resources Manager at Gesco is entrusted with the responsibility to efficiently oversee, execute, and assess the company's compliance with human resource standards and performance across all Canadian operations.

This role involves managing employee relations in alignment with established HR policies, ethical and societal principles, legal requirements, governmental regulations, and advisory guidelines.

The goal is to effectively execute a strategic HR plan that promotes accountability, problem resolution, and a just working environment.


Key Duties:


  • Execute the longterm Human Resources vision and strategy for the organization, encompassing functions such as recruitment, training, employment law, succession planning, leadership development, coaching, performance management, employee relations, organizational growth, labor negotiations, compensation, benefits, change management, budgeting, and payroll management.
  • Offer counsel to senior leadership on HR matters, helping them prevent issues and potential liabilities.
  • Implement HR strategies that align with organizational objectives.
  • Manage budgets covering compensation, fringe benefits, and departmental expenses.
  • Assess and provide counsel on the effects of new programs/strategies and regulatory changes on talent attraction, motivation, employee development and retention within the organization.
  • Continuously benchmark and evaluate program competitiveness, incentives, and performancebased rewards.
  • Facilitate and advise all management levels on HR issues, such as disciplinary actions, development plans, and terminations.
  • Interpret and enforce policies and procedures in accordance with federal and provincial laws and regulations, aligning them with corporate culture.
  • Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with staff, management, and senior executives to proactively address emerging issues that may impact current and future projects, resolve conflicts, and garner their support and cooperation.
  • Explore methods to enhance the employee experience and company culture through system improvements, onboarding enhancements, benefits offerings, feedback mechanisms, surveys, and overall organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive HR management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Experience in talent acquisition, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CHRP) is a plus.

$80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
