ABOUT THE ROLE

We are actively looking for an Intern Analyst, TFMT, to join our team for a 4-month (May 2024-August 2024) internship.

This role will be part of a growing and dynamic Treasury and Total Fund Management team, reporting into the Director, Treasury.

The incumbent will be responsible for helping on a variety of projects, including setting up derivative capabilities and building tools to help analyze daily cash and liquidity needs, FX, as well as analyzing the exposure to asset classes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a student to gain valuable work experience in a fast-growing, dynamic environment while being a part of a new pension plan.

This role is hybrid and based in downtown Toronto with Work-From-Home flexibility (~2 days in office).

UPP is based in Toronto's financial district and has a hybrid work model (minimum 2 days / week in office).

Please note that this is a paid internship opportunity.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Liquidity Management
Monitor liquidity and funding needs based on daily forecast
Maintain liquidity management dashboard daily
Provide support on various trading execution and activities
Exposure Management
Support derivative and repo activities by analyzing exposures and monitoring transactions
Currency Hedging
Assist in determining target currency exposures for hedging purposes according to internal policies and frameworks
Decision Support and Ad-Hoc Analysis
Perform analysis to support Total Fund and Treasury activities, including exposure management, and building analytical capabilities
Develop and produce reporting on Total Fund/Treasury activities
Monitor policy investment limits daily, anticipate trends, and proactively provide solutions

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Recent graduate or currently pursuing a Masters degree, in Business, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
Proficient in Excel VBA programming, Python and SQL
Possesses basic knowledge of and a keen interest in finance
