Summary:

In this position, you will report to the REACh Team Manager. As the REACh co-op/intern, you will be assigned short
- and long-term work assignments that support compliance to global chemical regulations at 16 world-wide sites.

  • REACh is the currently the most impactful chemical regulation across most industries.

To be able to perform the work, the company needs to supply:

  • Laptop with access to Matrix, IHS, TeamCenter, Lync, M&PT SharePoint, two Landing Systems (LS) REACH SharePoint sites
  • Occasional onsite access to shop floor and M&PT work area

The REACh team will provide:


  • An understanding of how our work ties into global chemical regulations
  • Technical introductions to LS engineering and manufacturing concepts
  • Relevant training for spec decomp effort and other REACh activities
  • Collaborative feedback and support via MS Teams and OneNote

The tasks can include:


  • Spec decomposition to fully understand how our engineering drives substance usage.
  • Tracking down Safety Data Sheets for products used in the manufacture of Landing Systems parts and assemblies.
  • Evaluating site usage of products targeted for reduction or elimination and researching alternate products.
  • Review of engineering specifications and other literature searches.
  • Data compilation in Excel. Improving advanced functionality of data files.
  • Assistance in preparing chemical usage surveys for deployment to LS sites worldwide, compiling and assessing results.
  • If R&D teams have appropriate projects in work, some handson testing related to qualification of less hazardous products.
  • Writing of technical reports and presentations.

Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of Year 2 (Year 3 preferred) of a University Bachelor's program in Materials Science and Engineering (preferred), Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Industrials Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
