Summary
The Manufacturing Coordinator is responsible for processing, procurement, schedule support and preparing job packages for manufacturing. The Manufacturing Coordinator will identify and coordinate the purchase of materials, third party processes and outsourced manufacturing as required. Communication, organization, professionalism, and integrity are key components of this position.


Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), travelers and production orders
  • In conjunction with the manufacturing manager, establish and communicate production lead times to Sales
  • Accurately procure raw materials and coordinate deliveries for production orders
  • Prepare and update job quotes for sales
  • Prepare and update job packages for the shop
  • Issue, control, and coordinate manufactured outsourcing by working with approved vendors
  • Liaise with vendors ensuring on time delivery of orders
  • Ensure frequent followup and updates with sales team if delays are encountered.
  • Monitor inventory min/max levels and work with manufacturing manager to ensure proper levels are maintained
  • Maintain and organize relevant documentation for manufacturing jobs
  • Keep current with ongoing changes and new technology and adapt accordingly.
  • Work with Engineering to establish, prepare, maintain and approve manufacturing methods through process routing with strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Participate regularly and actively in all aspects of the health and safety program including but not limited to safe work practices, habits, industrial hygiene, and good housekeeping.
  • Be aware of and execute relevant policies, procedures, and tools related to quality, environmental, and health and safety.
  • Additional duties may be assigned when required

Qualifications & Experience

  • 35 years of experience manufacturing/production coordination
  • Graduate of an Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Technology Program an asset
  • Knowledge of steel products related to industry
  • Working knowledge of ERP system such as JobBoss an asset
  • Possess strong organizational skills, and problemsolving skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm with the ability to work independently and with little supervision.
  • Must be adaptable to changing work environment, competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Positive attitude with ability to ensure compliance with all quality, environmental, and health and safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
