Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise and motivate a crew to complete a variety of landscaping/construction tasksSet the pace by working crew leaders and with the team to complete a variety of landscaping/construction tasksBe able to use a variety of powered and unpowered equipment and complete tasks such as:5 Ton dump truckTrailersQuick Cut SawsHand Tools for Brick InstallationTamper and Backpack BlowerPlanting annuals, perennials, shrubs and TreesPruning EquipmentMinor Concrete work and repairs
Requirements:
Have experience working around and able to supervise heavy equipment on a site
EX:
Backhoe, SkidsteerInteract with customers to troubleshoot and solve landscape problems and knowing when to call or involve Supervisor appropriately in those discussions.
Build strong team spirit through communicating effectively with team members and proactively resolving any issues or concernsProvide on-the-job training and enforcement of regulations related to Health & Safety, operating equipment and proper work standards (proactively bringing others in to train crew members and yourself if you are not adequately trained)Be able to take over-all goals and deadlines of the jobs being worked on and properly delegate to crews in order to accomplish high quality work on time and within budget.
Qualifications:A college horticulture school diploma or equivalent and/or one to three years Team Leader experience preferably in the Construction sector of the landscaping industryMust pose a valid '5' class Alberta driver's license with a clean driving record
Education and/or Experience:
Team Leader: 2 years (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
LeadershipProblem solvingAbility to manage multiple priorities and jobsAbility to make decisions and work independentlyAbility to record and report all job site activities, including material used, hours, incidents and issues to the Supervisor.
Physical Demands/
Work Environment:
Can lift or move a minimum of twenty-five pounds plus
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
Valid class 5 driver's license is required
Work Conditions:
Love of working outdoors is essential and the willingness to work in bad weather conditions i.e. rain, heat and cold weather
Required Education:
High school or equivalent (Required)A college horticulture school diploma or equivalent and/or one to three years Team Leader experience preferably in the Construction sector of the landscaping industry
Required License Or Certification:
A college horticulture school diploma or equivalent and/or one to three years Team Leader experience preferably in the Construction sector of the landscaping industryCompensation: Hourly wage range $25-$5/HR.
