Description:

Canadian Solar O&M operates utility-scale solar plants and battery energy storage systems on five continents.

With close to 5 GW contracted and under operations, CSOM has developed recognized expertise in the field of solar plants and battery system operations.

Engineering know-how, analytic prowess, and on-site technical skills ensure that our clients can count on the best service for their plants.

In line with our current growth, Canadian Solar O&M Inc.

is looking for a system performance analyst to assist in the in-depth analysis of performance data from solar photovoltaic and battery storage systems.

This position is at the crossroads of solar energy, engineering, and data analytics.


Responsibilities:


  • Analyze the performance of solar photovoltaic systems (utilityscale solar plants and battery storage systems); identify underperforming areas and subsystems, provide an understanding of system behavior
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and reports to share with clients
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of scripts to collect and archive data, calculate plant and inverter availability, and other KPIs
  • Develop automated diagnostic tools to analyze data and flag underperforming assets
  • Conduct the onboarding of new projects, from gathering plant information to full integration in our monitoring platform
  • Lead and mentor junior members of the team
  • Interface with other personnel in Operations and Maintenance, with our project development division, and with our clients
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety rules and company policies
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Degree in Engineering (electrical preferred) or equivalent
  • Familiarity with solar photovoltaic or other renewable energy systems
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)
  • Strong computer skills and Indepth familiarity with Python/Pandas
  • Knowledge of SQL, Git, and BI tools is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to write clear, concise reports
  • Strong work ethic, positive team attitude, and ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
