St. John's Anglican Church has been a place of welcome in Lunenburg since 1753.

St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia is in search of a full-time Rector to help lead us in the journey to an engaged and invigorated parish. In 2018, we created a Shared Vision through a highly inclusive process under the umbrella of the vision statement ... "We are a Christ centered, caring community shaping our future, preserving our heritage and living our faith word and deed." However, much has changed in the world in the past 6 years, and we look forward to working with a new Rector to revisit, refresh and/or rewrite our Shared Vision as we pave a positive path forward together.

We are located in the historic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg on the Atlantic Coast of Canada. St. John's is the second oldest Protestant Church in Canada and has been a practicing community of faith since its founding in 1753. Our church buildings include our Parish Hall, Rectory and the Church which was designated a National Historic Site in 1995. All our buildings are centrally located in "Old Town Lunenburg". Our rich ties to our heritage and Anglican traditions play an important role in our vision for the future which makes our Parish inviting and extraordinary

Worship, Fellowship, Leadership, and Heritage 'Ship' are core values which we embrace. We are seeking a Rector who can work with the varied demographics of our parish bringing energy, diversity, and flexibility to our community of faith. We seek an applicant who is comfortable leading a variety of services from the Anglican repertoire including all Christian customs and approaches ministry with ecumenical inclusiveness.
