This philosophy can be seen in every aspect and level of our home.A day in the role of Receptionist at The Wellington Nursing & Retirement Home.**As a Recpetionist at The Wellington Nursing & Retirement Home, you will be given high expectations, as well as an expectation to continue personal growth and professional growth. In this position, you will be gifted with a rewarding experience every day in the form of being able to see the exact impact you place on our residents.
As a Receptionist, you will report directly to the Reception Manager.
This position is responsible for but not limited to:
- Manage the incoming calls, take messages
- Manage the incoming and out going mail for residents and the home, as well as distributing mail into mail boxes for clients and staff.
- Manage hook ups for the phone for incoming clients.
- Assist residents where necessary, ie. signing in and out for appointments.
- Cover breaks for screening personnel
- Providing administrative support to the Executive Director and other managers as assigned.
- Updating Emergency Pacakage as front desk each week.
- Updating lists for Administration: Phone lists, Resident Lists, Health card Lists.
- Assisting with Billing and mail outs.
- Assist with entering Rapid Testing Information for Staff and Visitors.
- Ensure Tea area & lobby are neat and tidy and well stocked for residents.
- Required to understand the nature and meaning of quality indicators used by the Home
- Other duties as assigned and or indicated in Job Task Inventory
Qualifications

The qualifications needed to join our family at The Wellington Nursing & Retirement Home are as follows:
- High School Diploma
- Previous experience in a geriatric social related field is an asset.
- Well developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact efficiently and courteously with residents, public, employees, and volunteers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Second language is an asset.
- Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory references.
