YARD FOREMAN

WHAT WE DO

Recycling, Transport, Auto Sales, Demolition, Bins and Storage. Together we provide our customers with complete solutions to manage and dispose of their materials (primarily metal).

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

YARD

Open the yard gates by 8am
Conduct preshift walk through of all stations to ensure they are ready & report any potential issues
Ensure priorities are communicated and followed (daily task list)
First point of contact between employees from various stations and the Operations Manager
Helps facilitate daily expectations to meet targets assigned for each station
Ensure each shift can complete the days production tasks/targets
Provide daily feedback on production challenges and opportunities to management
Ensure efficient & timely progression of materials through work stations
Ensure materials and supplies are ready prior to shipment dates
Complete daily yard closing procedure
Lock the gate at the end of day
Assist with other production tasks assigned by Operations Manager
Collaborates with Operations Manager to problem solve issues in a timely manner
Perform daily random quality checks at different stations in the yard
Present a positive, can do attitude to the customer, Understand CFT's customer goals & objectives, Determine areas that could benefit from continuous improvement efforts

TRUCKS

Inspection of truck for cleanliness and or damage
Supervising loading of trucks for proper material and accurate weight
Ensure trucks are loaded to proper weights as per Min/Max document
Provide driver with proper shipping paperwork
Report number of bails loaded in truck for inventory management

TRAINING & SUPPORT

Mentor staff
Ensure all new employees are trained properly regarding safety procedures/machines & tools
Ensure all staff are using appropriate/required PPE
Set an example to staff regarding our safety program and procedures

EQUIPMENT

Inspect machines for cleanliness
Collection of daily inspection sheets for all heavy machinery
Ensure all equipment is in proper working order, Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed and sent to appropriate stakeholders. Ensure that machinery is properly secured when not in service.
Assist with maintenance and repairs as required

QUALIFICATIONS
years supervisory experience preferred

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must possess good communication skills as well as organizational and problem solving skills
Must be able to use PC, scanners, calculators and related equipment
Strong industry knowledge is a must
Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

Salary:
$55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
