The opportunity:


The primary purpose of the Medical Office Administration instructor position is to plan, organize and deliver curricula to students in an instructor-led environment.

The instructor will be responsible to teach and facilitate courses to classes of students in the Office Administration - Health Services diploma program.

The instructor will evaluate student performance relating to the curricula using a variety of assessments.

The instructor will assist with activities to support student success, including student internship and job placement, industry liaison and administrative functions when required.

The Medical Office Administration Instructor will support the vision, mission, and values of triOS College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness; embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.

What you'll be doing:


  • Review and follow the instructors course guideline which includes the course learning and vocational outcomes, alignment table, evaluation breakdown, daily summary plan and the daily lesson plan.
  • Prepare lecture/lab and class materials as required.
  • Keep the students engaged by developing and/or utilizing a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students.
  • Administer assessments using the LMS platform.
  • Ensure students are meeting academic guidelines and communicate progress to the International Education Manager according to the college written procedures.
  • Stay uptodate with the latest accounting trends and technologies to enhance the learning experience.

What you bring to the position:

  • University degree in Healthcare, Nursing, or a medical related discipline is required.
  • Five (5) years of related work experience in a leadership/management/supervisory position at a hospital or other healthcare organization is required.
  • Knowledge of OHIP Billing Software
  • ABELMed, Oscar, PSuite is required.
  • Knowledge of hospital procedures and Medical Transcription is required.
  • Teaching experience is preferred.
  • Master's degree in or a diploma in adult education is considered an asset.'
  • Member of relevant professional associations in "good standing" is considered an asset.'
  • Knowledge of D2L Brightspace or another learning management system is considered an asset.'
