Indalco Alloys is the aluminum weld wire division of Lincoln Electric which produces all of the aluminum weld wire Lincoln Electric distributes around the world.

Indalco is recognized as the world's only fully integrated manufacturer of a range of continuous cast aluminum rod and aluminum weld wire products.

There is extensive quality testing of all products, as a certified ISO9001 and 14001 facility.


Major Responsibilities (summary):


  • Report directly to the Indalco Alloys Managing Director with respect to the technical continuous casting of alloyed aluminum rod.
  • Direct all production management and Rod Mill employees with respect to all processes and metallurgy within the casting and batching, coiling and degassing functions of the Rod Mill
  • Actively participates in Standard Cost Calculation of Aluminum Alloyed Rod to maximize Rod Sales Profit.
  • Understands and Calculates OEE for the Rod Mill, works in Cost Reduction Initiatives involving Raw Materials, Manufacturing Inputs Purchasing and Energy Consumption.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high focus on Employee Health and Safety, and maintaining a strong 5S housekeeping environment.
  • Develop and manage capital projects and execute actions plans that drive process efficiencies, achieve and exceed quality standards and comply with all regulatory requirements and organizations.
  • Drive improvements in production processes and equipment, as well as product and metallurgical development.
  • Maintain and develop organizational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to the managers and staff within Indalco
  • Develop and foster a highly engaged team within a nonunion environment
  • To liaise and collaborate with management, line and nonmanagement staff at all levels as required, in areas including but not limited to; Rod Mill engineering, quality, health and safety, customer service, process controls, continuous improvement, and emergency response.
  • To actively participate in company, staff or individual oneonone meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive cooperation strategies within the department, as well as other departments across the Company
  • To continually contribute to the profitability of Indalco Alloys and the Company and ongoing business operations by supporting, initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives
  • Participate in the Global Performance Management Program (GPMP)
  • To fully abide and actively support Lincoln Electric's and Indalco Alloys Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of natural resources and the Health & Safety of all employees
  • To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned, or required by the Managing Director
  • Indalco Alloys in a timely and professional manner

Position Requirements & Factors

Minimum Education Requirement:


  • Engineering Degree preferably in Metallurgy

Minimum Experience & Training Requirement:


  • Minimum 35 years of experience as lead Engineer, Process Improvement Leader and/or Metallurgy Manager of an aluminum or copper continuous casting operation, ideally in a _
    Properzi_ mill environment
  • Must have worked in a high pace manufacturing environment especially in a mill environment
  • Must have supervised individuals
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Welldeveloped verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to provide sound leadership and build and run a highly engaged team
  • Good computer skills especially with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in leading a nonunion and ISO certified manufacturing operation
