- Must have Current General Class (Practicing) Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BLS Certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider within 3 months of hire
- Perinatal Nursing Certificate, or willing to complete upon hire required or willingness to complete within 3 years.
- Completion of a Basic Level Breast Feeding Certificate preferred or willingness to complete within 6 months of employment required.
- Recent experience in an Advanced Level II Nursery, Level III Nursery or completion of the George Brown perinatal course
- Current STABLE Program or ACORN provider an asset.
- Experience with added nursing skills and sanctioned medical acts of an NICU (capillary bloodwork, IVs, suctioning of ETTs)
- Demonstrates knowledge of Neonatal standards of care including ventilated infants
- Must have knowledge of pre-term and full-term infant pathophysiology and the management and intervention of infants requiring acute care
- Ability to work collaboratively with other professions / disciplines in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven planning, time management, organization and coordination skills
- Excellent attendance record
