As a member of our production team, you will play an integral role in our design process - transforming vision into reality, as you contribute to the fabrication, quality control and installation of our programmable shape memory alloy technology towards reducing greenhouse gases and spurring Canadian innovation.

Working for Smarter Alloys, you will:

  • Handle and transport material for processing
  • Record material specifications in lot manufacturing records
  • Perform heat treatment of wire using high temperature furnaces
  • Operate a hydraulic press and other common shop tools/equipment
  • Mount wires and weights onto support structures
  • Provide quality control checks using standardized protocols
  • Work safely and effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining quality
  • Maintain the work area to be clean, safe and organized
  • Create small assemblies and overlays.
  • Perform routine facility inspection and maintenance

Qualifications
We are considering experienced production workers, early career engineering technicians or technologists and salary will be commensurate with experience.


Here's what we're looking for:

  • Selfmotivated and able to work under mínimal supervision
  • Determined and hardworking, with an eye for detail
  • Able to multitask between different tasks
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, including days, afternoons, and overnights and/or weekends
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude

And here's what would be an asset:

  • Prior experience as a production worker or machine operator in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with quality control/quality assurance or QMS
  • Experience with basic data analysis and reading graphs
  • Completed or currently enrolled in college diploma in an Engineering Technology or Manufacturing/Production program (or equivalent work experience)
