The Human Resources Department is looking for a knowledgeable, positive and resourceful person to join our collaborative Human Resources team.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, you will be responsible for providing high quality advice, consultation, guidance and support to Managers and staff on all aspects of human resources, including, labour relations, performance management, recruitment, benefits and compensation, disability management and health and safety.

This is a true generalist role, supporting a portfolio, while maintaining the integrity of relevant collective agreements, legislation, policies and terms and conditions.

The position requires strong facilitation, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage and prioritize competing and administrative tasks.


What you bring:


  • Completed Bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent in a directlyrelated field of study and have or are working toward your CPHR designation
  • 3 years' experience delivering human resources services in a unionized, public sector environment
  • Ability to proactively advance HR best practices in order to deliver results and meet the needs of clients and invested parties
  • Experience assisting with departmental business planning
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization through positive working relationships
  • Comfortable in a changing environment; you see opportunities not obstacles
  • Driven, selfstarter who is creative and innovative with a strong track record of using these traits to deliver effective solutions to organizational challenges
  • Highly organized, detailed oriented and analytical thinker
  • Intrinsically motivated, resourceful, humble, energetic, helpful and caring
  • Superior customer service and strong facilitation, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of human resources processes, practices, rules and regulations
  • Thorough knowledge of systems related to the work
