ROLE PURPOSE
The IT Support Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing hardware & software components of the organization's computers. The role also supports these systems through remote access or site visits as needed by management teams.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
System Administration (20%)
- Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, as well as coordinate with external support for system issues and installation
- Troubleshoots software and system issues to restore normal operation
- Expand or alters the system to serve additional functions or improve workflow
- Consult with management to ensure that system principles are agreed upon
- Design the system's goals and create flow charts and diagrams that depict the logical operational processes of programs
Technical Support (50%)
- Develop, document and revise the system design procedures, test procedures and hardware and software inventory
- Coordinate and connect an organization's computer systems to improve compatibility and information sharing
- Examine and evaluate computer printouts and performance indicators for code faults, then rectify them by changing the codes
- Determine the computer software or hardware that will be required to set up or modify the system
- Setup and maintain all printing devices and wireless scanners in good and serviceable condition
People Development (30%)
- Train staff and users to work with computer systems and programs in the company
- Recommend new equipment or software packages to the employees as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- University Degree or College Diploma in Information Technology or a combination of schooling and work experience
Experience
- Previous experience in a desktop support or IT support role is preferred
- 1+ years in system support in similar work environment
- Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical users
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fastpaced environment
- Experience using an ERP system
- Microsoft 365 Office proficiency
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems (Window OS, Mac OS and Android OS)

WORKING CONDITIONS
This role operates in a production environment; employees are exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, variable temperatures and fragrances.
