Job Summary:


Reporting to the Director of Employment and Training this position will be responsible for supporting employment services delivery and training for employment projects and programs for urban clients.

The position will assess unemployed, underemployed or employment threatened client needs and challenges through career/employment path plan.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work with clients and stakeholders to secure employment and educational opportunities.
  • Assist in researching grant opportunities and writing proposals in collaboration for leverage funding.
  • Ensure records accurately reflect the financial status, narrative reporting, and statistics of the Employment and Training program(s) and projects they are leading.
  • Write and submit quarterly financial reports to program requirements.
  • Delivery, promotion and marketing of programs and projects.
  • Participate in career fairs and educational forums in the Wood Buffalo region.
  • Must have the ability to motivate and inspire, effective communication skills, excellent organizational skills, time & stress management competences.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Completion of postsecondary education in Business/ Administration or related field is preferred.
  • 24 years administrative experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • High confidentiality, excellent work ethics, self starter, punctuality, and task oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy and proficiency in computer and financial effort.
  • Knowledge of local Indigenous cultures, ceremonies, and traditions will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to speak Dene or Cree will be considered an asset.

Requirements:


  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Child Intervention Record Check.
  • Class 5 License with a clear Drivers abstract.
  • Willingness to travel and work outside of business hours when necessary.
  • Problemsolving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
