Role Purpose


Collaborate with management teams, HR and C&B leadership on complex project leadership, Reward analysis and recommendations and other key Compensation and Benefits related actions for both Corporate and Hotel populations in assigned region.

Ensure market competitive practices for assigned geography and provide practical solutions and plan designs to support strategic business objectives.

Implement policies and programs designed to effectively deliver base salary, bonus and merit increase programs including hiring, promotion, and equity pay.

Manage and sometimes own highly confidential job evaluation processes, short-term incentive programs and specialized incentive programs for assigned region groups.

May lead and review the work of less experienced staff, vendors or contractors.


Key Accountabilities

  • Work with Director, C&B to lead or play a critical role on C&B programs such as Benefits program management, Flex Benefit design and implementation, the annual merit process, incentive plan design (Corporate, Hotel and Developers), job evaluations and rate structure development, relocation and other C&B programs as required.
  • Consult with regional leadership teams to identify current issues and gaps within the Reward function while providing day to day support regarding employee pay issues, policies, salary guidelines, employment law requirements, and job evaluations to ensure consistency with established pay philosophy and strategy. Ensure decisions are executed / processed in a timely manner.
  • Conduct market benchmark analysis, develop and recommend salary ranges, and provide recommendations on all roles changes, promotions hires, etc. Partner with Talent Resourcing for the review and provide consultation on job offers and packages for band 6 and below.
  • Conduct presentations and training related to Corporate and Hotel compensation programs to ensure managers and employees understand applicable Reward programs.
  • Participate in the development and revision of annual incentive plans for assigned region to ensure regional/local reward effectiveness while maintaining accordance with the Company's incentive design principles.
  • Participate in company and hotel acquisition activities as it relates to compensation and benefits programs to ensure full identification and disclosure of compensation liabilities associated with acquired companies. Conduct due diligence, cost analysis and/or integration of programs as needed.
  • Conduct complex analyses related to compensation issues, such as survey data analysis, incentive cost modelling, merit budgeting, impact analysis, etc. and provide recommendations regarding policy/program revisions to management to ensure the Company's competitive posture is maintained.
  • Implement project plans liaised with business needs for corporate office in terms of compensation and benefit programs, systems, and policy design refresh efforts.

Key Skills & Experiences

  • Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing projects from conception through implementation.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills demonstrated through previous experience conducting market analysis and developing pay structures.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles and practices.
  • Strong computer skills to include demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Proficiency in Access and Microsoft Project desired.
  • Effective presentation, consulting and interpersonal building skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws affecting C&B policies and programs.
Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in progressive work related experience with demonstrated understanding of multiple disciplines/processes related to the position including compensation analysis and employee / Mgmt consulting experience.
