Applications are invited for the regular part time position of Chef de Partie in Benchmark as part of the Culinary, Tourism & Beverage Studies Division, located at the Daniel J.

Patterson Campus. The starting hourly rate is $28.44/hr for a 24 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.


Reporting to the Benchmark Chef, the Chef De Partie Position supports all daily food preparation, kitchen organization, storage, receiving, cleanliness, and sanitation for all Benchmark foodservice outlets including Culinary Arts Café, Benchmark Lunch Service, and Catering.

The position will provide guidance and support to student employees in the kitchen to help them maintain all standards set for the operation, and ensure the highest levels of quality, food safety and sanitation.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily food production, preparation and presentation of all food items
  • Support student employee food production, organization, and kitchen sanitation
  • Assigning and reviewing work by students to ensure food quality and proper health and safety procedures are adhered to
  • Maintain kitchen sanitation, hygiene and food safety
  • Assist Benchmark Chef in creating daily work lists and preparation duties

Qualifications:


  • Two (2) year diploma in Culinary Management and/or Red Seal Cook Certification
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a culinary service environment
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and problemsolving skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift light/heavy boxes or equipment throughout their shift
