- Developing, designing, and implementing equipment to automate various aspects of potash mining.
- Creating testing procedures for new technologies in mining operations. Collaborating closely with on-site personnel to ensure safe testing and project completion.
- Acting as a technical liaison between Mosaic, consultants and vendors as required.
- Investigating and promoting ideas for new technological developments. Evaluating and incorporating the latest technologies into designs for automating the various elements of potash mining.
- Developing training material for operations and maintenance personnel.
- Troubleshooting issues that arise on mine automation projects.
- Root Cause Analysis participation of production machines and equipment.
- Follow the Capital Project Management process on assigned capital projects to ensure proper practices are applied to allocating and spending capital on assigned automation projects. Provide technical insight from area of expertise in a team setting to help develop and progress the mine automation project portfolio.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a focus in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, preferred
- Relevant and practical engineering experience is preferred; the engineering position level will be determined based on selection. Registered with APEGS, actively working towards P.Eng status.
- Project Management experience is an asset.
- Communication skills to effectively work with and convey information to technical and non-technical personnel.
- Work cooperatively in relationships, bridging various levels of authority.
- Accountable for the timely completion of assigned engineering projects and technical input within the Automation group.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills required to build relationships and drive results.
- Promote the company's best interests when dealing with contractors, consultants, and supplier representatives.
- Previous work experience prototyping industrial machines or in a relevant industry is an asset.
- Must be able to work underground as needed
- Employment is subject to completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks, including criminal, drug, and alcohol testing.

Are you our next Automation Mechanical Engineer?
We are currently seeking an Automation Mechanical Engineer (I, II, III, Senior) at our Esterhazy, SK K3 location to provide safe and effective execution of automation projects and provide technical support to site operations, maintenance and production teams. In this role, you will work with automation team members on the design and development of new technologies and lead in the construction, acceptance testing, and commissioning of major projects. This position will involve direct interaction with site maintenance, capital, and operations personnel, providing technical expertise of a mechanical engineering nature to ensure that the automation systems developed are safe, effective and reliable.
