Qualifications Required and Preferred- KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead or support strategic and operational projects that are currently underway, while developing strategies for new projects
  • Manage all aspects of projects including proposal writing, budget creation, execution, preparing and delivering progress reports and presentations
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and create effective project management structures with clear roles and responsibilities to ensure successful execution of projects
  • Ensure that effective change management strategies such as stakeholder buy in are instituted to execute projects from start to finish
  • Lead project teams with appropriate project management tools to complete assigned project
  • Identify and manage overall project dependencies and ensure in collaboration with project team and stakeholders, the project remains ontime, ontarget and onbudget
  • Ensure use of risk management framework to detect risks associated with projects and deploy risk mitigation strategies
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies at all levels of the organization to ensure project success
  • Ensure successful transition of projects into day to day operations; and deploy effective sustainability tools
  • Work effectively with other departments such as decision support and finance to solicit quantifiable metrics to track project success
  • Ensure that co design is considered in all aspects of project management
  • Provide project and change management training and coaching to further develop corporate project and change management competencies
  • Responsible to recognize and report patient, staff, and environment safety issues, identify and implement preventative and corrective actions, within the scope of this role

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree required
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Canadian College of Health Services Executives (CHE) designation preferred
  • Established competency in leading, managing and implementing large projects

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 7 years in a related field within the hospital or health care sector required

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Possesses indepth knowledge of project management and change management practice standards, tools, methodologies, abilities and competencies
  • Advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, and
Outlook- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Project


SKILLS:

  • Proven ability to assess inquiries and problems and to exercise good judgment in taking appropriate actions
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects across full lifecycle
  • Proven ability to manage complex change associated with assigned projects
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to execute all aspects of projects successfully, including project milestones and tasks, timelines and budget
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and independently
  • Demonstrated success in effectively organizing, prioritizing tasks and implementing change management processes related to projects
  • Proficient critical and analytical thinking, problem solving and judgment abilities
  • Strong team player, effective in achieving results in a 'matrix' environment and easily able to build trusting and collaborative rapport and professionally manage and resolve conflict with all levels of staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Adherence to strict confidentiality
