Job Summary


The Marketing Coordinator assists with the design, development and implementation of marketing, communications, sales and social media initiatives in Conferences and Accommodations.

Reporting to the Marketing and Business Development Manager, the Marketing Coordinator will coordinate and implement both print and digital marketing initiatives and perform other sales and marketing administrative duties.

Organizational Status

Reports directly to the Marketing and Business Development Manager at Conferences and Accommodations. The position will also work and collaborate with other Conferences and Accommodations staff and other UBC units as required.

Work Performed- Creates and posts social media content.

Manages the day-to-day postings and all follower engagement and correspondence across Conferences and Accommodations' various social media accounts.- Creates and maintains a weekly social media calendar.- Works with our SEO partners to employ SEO and paid media initiatives.

Monitor and report on paid media campaigns to ensure that they reach KPI targets.- Sends out weekly or monthly analytic reports tracking key metrics and providing insights and action recommendations to ensure ongoing guest improvements.

This includes reports pertaining to web analytics, social analytics and online reputation/review reports.- Assists in the writing, editing, designing and proofreading of communication content that includes but is not limited to blogs, websites, digital ads, social media, and print.- Develops and coordinates the production of print projects, merchandising projects, and other communication materials.

This may include but is not limited to brochures, signage, sales materials, branded collateral, swag and more.- Update websites using CMS (WordPress).- Sets up promotions and offers and ensure implementation on our websites, OTAs and Property Management systems.- Assists with photoshoot coordination as needed.- Schedules ad implements CoolSigns displays.- Creates, proofreads and edits basic signage, sales materials and social media posts.- Oversees arrangements for printing and distribution of materials.- Maintains brand standards by keeping messaging, look, and feel of all marketing materials aligned with existing brand guidelines.- Communicates professionally with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and concise manner.

Consequence of Error/Judgement

Misrepresentation or inaccuracies of Conferences and Accommodations, its properties and events in marketing materials, advertisements, website, social media etc. will negatively affect relations with guests and conference clients, and potentially jeopardize revenues and customer relations. Online reputation and brand of Conferences and Accommodations and its various brand would also be negatively impacted.

Poor decisions regarding the implementation of marketing initiatives will impact Conferences and Accommodations, as this position is responsible for helping to drive revenue and growth.

Poor interpersonal skills would result in poor staff relations.

Supervision Received

Reports to the Marketing and Business Development Manager.

Supervision Given

May coordinate the work of staff where needed. Explains work procedures to new or inexperienced staff. May direct the work of internal and external service providers.

Minimum Qualifications


High School graduation, plus two years of post-secondary education, plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications- Prefer to have basic knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Suites, Figma and/or Canva.- Ability to effectively use office software at an intermediate level (minimum requirement: Microsoft 2010 Outlook, Word, Excel). Knowledge of and ability to develop and implement video and photo communications and marketing campaigns for social media and other digital communications and marketing channels.
