Your opportunity:


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Analyzing and documenting business requirements
  • Liaising with clients to ensure designs reflect operational requirements
  • Evaluating systems/software to determine if client needs are met
  • Analyzing and making recommendations for programming enhancements
  • Analyzing the security and integrity of highly complex system problems and/or implications of any new or changed procedure or technology
  • Evaluating new technologies or new and modified business processes to determine enhancement requirements
  • Analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and developing technical solutions for systems improvements
  • Planning and estimating financial resources required for programs and/or projects

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a complex environment with many stakeholders, where resources are generally inadequate to meet all requests, priorities and desired outcomes differ, and negotiation and consensus are often required to decide collaboratively how resources are allocated and how business needs are met.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills exercised in an environment with frequently changing demands, demonstrating initiative, creativity flexibility and cooperation.
  • Experience leading and/or coleading adhoc project teams comprised of administrative staff, software developers, system administrators and/or academic administrators to plan, execute, implement, evaluate and improve softwarebased business projects.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, evaluating and improving business proceses and methods in the context of existing and anticipated administrative and academic needs, resource constraints, and contextualized good practices.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business requirements, to design, configure and test software in collaboration with other technical staff, and to carry out data visualization and analytics related to the use of software in the context of business processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the configuration and scripting of software running on Linux servers supporting clients accessing the software through standard web browsers. Solid working knowledge of Linux bash/sh scripting on the command line, database configuration via command line, software configuration through the use of configuration files, and Linux package management.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize effectively when working with multiple, often changing, tasks and projects, exercised both individually and in leadership of project teams.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and commitment to appropriate information security and privacy practices in a web development environment, including secure software design, authentication, patching, appropriate use of encryption, log analysis and general secure software development and system administration practice.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills under pressure, including a keen ability and interest in helping staff, faculty and students, while exercising unfailing good judgment, discretion and tact, as an individual, as a member of a project team, and as project team lead.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, to a diverse group of clients, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to persons
