Position purpose:


Under the supervison of the Project Manager III, the Project Manager I is responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects within budget, on schedule, in accordance with the approved scope and applicable government codes, all within established project methodologies.

Under the general supervision of the Project Manager III, this position will support the team in the delivery of the program by contributing to other projects and monitoring projects advancement.


In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Project Management:

Manage the delivery of assigned projects from initiation to completion and ensure project outputs are being delivered as per project objectives, on schedule, to budget and to the required quality.

Ensure clear objectives are established for assigned projects by discussing project priorities with client, developing project work plans and schedules.

Identify and escalate project issues and risks to the Project Manager III for guidance or resolution.


Project Support:

Provide support to Project Managers by contributing to the project development through the gathering and/or editing of various information such as project specifications, plans, bid information, etc.

Participate and provide support at different stages of projects by participating to the request for proposal process, monitoring project progress according to contract requirements, ensuring follow-up and communications are clear and efficient with all stakeholders, and monitoring and gathering various informations related to service providers performance.

Also provide support in coordinating and tracking all project related correspondence including meeting minutes, change orders or other instructions, etc.


Stakeholder Relationship:

Proactively liaise with and report progress to internal client or project sponsor for assigned projects to ensure that they are informed of project progress, and ensure that their opinions or requirements are taken into consideration as the project progresses.

Establish and maintain positive and effective working relations with all members of the project delivery team and operations team to ensure the efficiency of interactions between the teams.


Contract and Performance Management:

For assigned projects, monitor progress according to contract requirements and ensure proper follow-up is made with professional consultants, contractors, suppliers and vendors.

Monitor the performance of professional consultants, contractors, suppliers and vendors and reinforce contract requirements to ensure the terms of contracts are fulfilled.


What you will bring:

Post-secondary certification or technology diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management with three (3) years of relevant experience in the construction field;
Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods, building systems and terminology;
Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blue prints, specifications and contracts;
Knowledge of procurement processes, laws governing construction contracts and contracting;
