  • As an Asset Management Strategist with Calgary Housing Company (CHC), you will be responsible for developing investment strategies by creating, maintaining and reporting on asset management data and prioritizing capital investment and the optimization of assets. You will coordinate the completion of Building Condition Assessments (BCA) including hazardous material surveys, review and compile report recommendations by third parties, review BCA data to ensure it is complete and accurate, review and research existing building data to support BCA work and consolidate and analyze historical information/data to submit to the BCA consultant.

Primary duties include:

  • Develop investment strategies by managing, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting on asset management technical data.
Collect, validate, input and analyze asset management records through consultation with various operational and strategic partners and information systems.
Prepare capital budgets for various financial portfolios and formulate business cases for the purpose of obtaining investment funding.
Identify capital priorities by assessing feedback against criteria to ensure work is prioritized.
Responsible for Project Management including cost, quality and schedule of the ongoing BCA program for all CHC managed properties.
Expand and update the asset attributes in the asset registry.
Update various Asset Management documents including creation of reports on capital expenditure and asset management dashboards.
Manage, update, and document asset management processes, procedures and best management practices in alignment with CHC's Asset Management Framework.
Research best practices and report on facility/asset management trends, solutions and technology.
Analyze asset sustainability, operating performance and forecasted capital work to assist with long term viability of CHC properties.

Qualifications
***- A degree in Building Sciences or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in asset management with management practices pertaining to physical assets in accordance with ISO 55000.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • A Class 5 Drivers License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, no current suspensions or charges pending, and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
  • Previous experience with Yardi Construction would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain collaborative professional relationships, combined with a demonstrated customer focus.
  • Strong project management, negotiation, collaboration, and issue management skills.
