MD Management Limited, a division of Scotia Wealth Management, has an exciting opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic, and client-focused Financial Consultant, Regional Accounts to join our team.


As a Financial Consultant, Regional Accounts you will contribute to the overall success of MD Wealth in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Participate in client meeting preparation, drafting post meeting notes and identifying next opportunities, gathering, and inputting financial data resulting from discovery conversations.
  • Understand and comply with all industry regulations and MD's program and process requirements.
  • In an effort to identify new opportunities and ensure service alignment, you will connect with clients by phone and in writing, communicating marketing initiatives, conducting meaningful discovery conversations and fostering engagement relative to the MD financial suite and Scotiabank offerings.
  • Help promote/advocate MD products and services with clients and prospects, which involves reengaging our "disengaged" clients.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Keep current on issues affecting the financial affairs of clients, including a general knowledge of income tax, investment trends and products, as well as any other issues impacting clients.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

The Must Haves:


  • University degree in business, commerce or equivalent degree related to the practice of financial planning.
  • Completion of the Group Annuity Sector (PQPAV) (Quebec offices only); Life License (LLQP) (all other provinces), and the willingness to complete other regulatory requirements.
  • Wealth Management Essentials (WME postlicensing requirement required in order to maintain licensing as RR)
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in an advisory role supporting clients.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of financial planning and financial services, including banking and lending products.
  • CIRO licensed as a Registered Representative (RR) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Canada's two official languages is mandatory for Quebec and an asset for all other provinces.
