Wage:
$23 - $28 per hour


Hours:
Monday - Friday (37.5 hours a week), flexible work hours


Term:
Permanent position with a 3-month probation period

You and the Job


The
Payroll & Accounts Clerk will primarily process a biweekly full-cycle payroll and support the Accounting Coordinator as AP/AR backup.

The Payroll & Accounts Clerk reports to the Finance Director.

Working with senior staff, the Payroll & Accounts Clerk enters payroll data into a SAGE 300 ERP system, maintain files and reviews timesheets for errors before inputting and posting to the system.

In support of the Accounting Coordinator, the Payroll & Accounts Clerk tracks donations and program-based tuitions and assists in various AP and AR tasks as needed.


Your Responsibilities

Process full-cycle payroll

  • Review regional timesheet submissions for data and/or compliance errors
  • Enter biweekly payroll data into Sage 300 ERP system
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files
  • Produce ROEs as required
  • Remit to CRA biweekly
  • Remit to WCB quarterly
  • Assist in producing and sending T4s annually

Support the Accounting Coordinator

  • Create standardized electronic and hardcopy files
  • Sort, review and maintain expense files
  • Code expense invoices for processing
  • Enter AP and AR data into Sage 300 ERP system as directed
  • Track donations and programbased tuitions using Excel spreadsheets
  • Use and maintain postage machine, copier and other office equipment
  • Assist in various AP and AR tasks as needed

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Payroll Certification is an asset.
  • University and/or college degree in accounting, business administration or relevant field.
  • Familiarity with office management procedures and accounting principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and office management software.
  • Familiarity with federal and provincial employment legislation (e.g. WCB, CRA).
  • Policies and procedures in a variety of administrative programs and functions including Sage 300 (Canadian Payroll certification).

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage a rapidlyfluctuating workload.
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to be proactive in identifying and addressing issues.

  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills. Other language skills are an asset.
