- Performing regular inspections and audits of commercial vehicles, drivers and operators to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and standards.
- Identifying and reporting any safety issues, risks or violations and recommending corrective actions or improvements.
- Providing guidance and support to commercial vehicle operators and drivers on transportation safety matters, such as fatigue management, load restraint, vehicle maintenance, and training.
- Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures and programs for the transportation sector and ensuring they are communicated and followed.
- Responding to and managing any emergencies or incidents involving commercial vehicles, such as accidents, breakdowns, spills or fires.
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, such as management, regulators, law enforcement, customers and suppliers, on transportation safety issues and initiatives.
- Conducting and facilitating safety training and awareness sessions for commercial vehicle operators and drivers.
- Keeping up to date with the latest trends, developments and best practices in transportation safety and compliance.
- The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in transportation safety, compliance or auditing, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
- Excellent knowledge of the applicable laws, regulations and standards for transportation safety and compliance, such as the National Safety Code (NSC), and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations.
- Valid Class 1 driver's license
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and resolve safety issues and risks.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders and audiences.
- High level of professionalism, integrity and ethics, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure and in changing environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software and tools.
- Willing and able to travel frequently and work irregular hours, as required.
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract;
- Cleared and satisfactory background and professional reference checks;
- Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
