Reporting to the Operations Manager, in this role, you will:

  • Lead the team in achieving daily SLAs & KPIs through tracking productivity results against the actual targets and provide the necessary coaching /training to assist employees in achieving the daily targets.
  • Provide suggestions to the Operations Manager on productivity improvement processes and operational growth.
  • Work with the Operations Manager in managing the manpower planning daily and during the peak/product launch periods to ensure operational success.
  • Be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization including, at times, with the Client
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Conduct oneonone meetings providing input and feedback to employees regarding their overall performance.
  • Facilitate daily shift start up meetings to effectively communicate all pertinent information regarding process changes, goals & objectives.
  • Cross train employees in various functions to improve labour costs and efficiencies.
  • Provide or coordinate operational trainings for new hires.
  • Use the Kronos timekeeping system to approve timesheet entries & resolve payroll issues or follow up with HR
  • Back up other leadership roles when required
  • Be comfortable with both business process and data and People Management. Quarterback the crossfunctional planning required for transportation and shipping of outbound goods
  • Demonstrate strong problemsolving and collaborative skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent PC Skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Develop, maintain, and automate reports & dashboards to track performance metrics, KPIs, and other key indicators.
  • Be comfortable using multiple WMS to support various client's' operations such as AS400, SAP, or Manhattan Scale.
  • Ensure work areas are hazard free & clear of any potential hazards through regular site inspections and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all safety policies, procedures and programs are adhered to at all times.
  • Participate in trainings and assist Human Resources in the coordination of training sessions for the employees.
  • Communicate Health and Safety awareness as needed.
  • Resolve any health and safety concerns/issues immediately. If unable to, escalate it to the Operations Manager or Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Effectively respond to injuries through appropriate medical treatment and suitable duties accommodation.
  • Ensure compliance with load inspections, nonstandard pallets, trailer security (seals) and pallet heights for inbound.

We are looking for a team member that has:

  • Experience in a multi-client operation operating both wholesale fulfillment operations as well as small parcel pick & pack
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Minimum of 3 years previous supervisory experience in a fast paced, 3PL environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of 3PL services and processes.
  • Level 2 First Aid Certification an asset or willingness to take course.
  • MHE Certified or willingness to be trained.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills.
  • Flexibility to work other shifts/schedules when required.
