BC Corrections helps keep British Columbians safe by managing adults who are in custody or under community supervision.

The branch provides secure custody for individuals awaiting trial as well as for individuals serving sentences of less than two years and operates probation offices that supervise individuals serving community sentences, such as bail or probation orders.

We work with individuals under our supervision in custody and the community to learn better ways of responding to the world around them and reduce reoffending.


The Training Assistant provides a broad range of secretarial and administrative support to the Strategic Training Initiative in Community Supervision (STICS) program area.

This unit includes the Director of Programs and Interventions and professional staff located across the province.

As the stand alone administrative position, the Training Assistant works with relative independence to determine work priorities and organize assignments taking into consideration changing priorities and deadlines.


Job Requirements:


  • Grade 12 graduation or GED equivalent
  • A combination of 3 years of related experience, education and/or training in secretarial, stenographic or administrative support. Other areas of experience/education/training may be considered.

About this Position:

This position has full time on-site requirements.

This position is part time (35 hours biweekly).

This is a temporary opportunity until 9/13/2024. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.

An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
