Department Supervisor │Machining & Repair" is a team player, is self-motivated and self-directed and leads by example each and every day.
Typical daily responsibilities include:
- Team leader and mentor
- Daily scheduling of resources optimizing for ontime delivery and profit
- Maintain operational cost within agreed budget and practice diligent cost control
- Participate in all incident corrective action review and implementation
- Overall accountability for shop productivity and ontime delivery
- Overall accountability for shop health and safety culture, system, implementation, development and performance
- Overall accountability for shop quality performance, implementation, and improvements
- Continually update customers and sales team on job completion
- Provide operational updates as scheduled by management
- Schedule and implement initiatives and programs received from management
- Provide direct input on policies, initiatives and programs during development
- Postsecondary education or relevant work experience
- 5+ years machine shop or relevant supervisory experience
- Red seal manual machinist considered an asset
- Very proficient with MS word, excel and outlook
- Highly organized and experience working within deadlines in a fastpaced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
- Strong data analysis skills, coupled with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy of results
- Familiarity with quality management and continuous improvement processes
- Good decision making and problemsolving capabilities
- Fixed residence in Nova Scotia
