Located out of the Fort McMurray office, the Pipeline Maintenance Technician will report to the Sr. Pipeline Maintenance Technician.

This frontline role within Inter Pipeline and is responsible for the day-to-day Corridor, Polaris and Boreal pipeline maintenance/operations support of pipeline ROW's, facilities, contractors, and assets to meet the company's strategic plan and supporting initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to operate Skid steers, Argos, ATVs.
  • Class 1 or 3 license in good standing preferred

Experience:


  • 5+ years' experience in pipeline operations and maintenance procedures, emergency response
  • Heavy equipment and locating experience

Skills:


  • Strong computers skills with knowledge with Maintenance Management Systems preferred

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Alberta Onecalls and crossing agreements
  • Operate heavy equipment for pipeline maintenance and on various projects for Technical
  • Maintain access roads and stations including MLBV's. (Snow removal, grading, etc.)
  • Maintain ROW (subsidence, erosion control, brushing, weed control, signage, patrolling)
  • Mainline Block Valve / ROW compliance checks
  • Maintain remote generators (checks and fueling) and emergency response equipment
  • Assist with cathodic protection maintenance
  • Perform equipment LOTO, drain down, isolations, for maintenance, repair, and project work
  • Complete monthly station checklists, mainline valve checklists, sump inspection PM's and forward to supervisor/maintenance planner for closure
  • Member on the first call team, need to stay up to date on training, exercises, emergency spill response equipment and where to find it if needed.
  • Work with Operations Support Services EH&S, Compliance, Integrity, Ops. Engineering, Land department etc. to get advice on matters that are unclear or to deal with issues, hazards, complaints, and incidents.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and operated according to procedure or manufacturer's recommendation.

Hours:

  • 4x10 Monday-Thursday
  • Participate in the oncall rotation
