Peer Assisted Care Team (PACT) Assistant Manager (16 hours/week)

Weekend/Evening shift PACT Mental Health Professionals and PACT Peer Workers


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision to a dynamic team of Mental Health Professionals and Peer Workers, holds space for them, and is available for them during the entirety of the shift.
  • Promotes collaboration with other CMHA programs and services including but not limited to counselling, outreach etc.
  • Works to meet or exceed program dispatch targets set in collaboration with BC Division and other service providers.
  • Positively represents the program with community partners, clients, stakeholders, and rights holders.
  • Ensures that schedules, program documentation, statistics, client notes etc. are documented in accordance with CMHA policies and relevant privacy legislation.
  • Oversees daytoday operations (including effectively managing workflow and timelines pertaining to a variety of projects/tasks simultaneously, in various stages of completion).
  • Assists with orientation, training, and performance evaluation of the team of Mental Health Professionals and Peers.
  • Actively participates in department and clinical meetings.
  • Ensures staff adhere to program policies and procedures and engage in accordance with CMHA values in their interactions with clients and their colleagues.
  • Supports administrative duties such as scheduling, facilitating meetings, and data entry as required.
  • Completes all required training but not limited to ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, Naloxone, Trauma-Informed Practices, etc.

  • Listen nonjudgmentally and effectively deescalate and resolve conflict.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of person and familycentered care, traumainformed care, wellness model in mental illness, and psychosocial rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emotional, social, or environmental barriers and intervene to eliminate stigma.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction principles, crisis prevention and intervention, and conflict resolution.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with people living with disabilities and/or multiple barriers including poverty, racism, trauma, nondominant language, culture, sexuality or identified gender, and mental health or substance use challenges.
  • Degree or Diploma in mental health, Counselling or Social Work.
  • Experience in the field of crisis deescalation, mental health, substance use disorder, and harm reduction.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Must have experience with using Office 365 platform and Outlook platforms.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR
  • C with AED, Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, Naloxone, Trauma-Informed Practices (or willingness to complete it).
  • Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid19 or able to provide a vaccination exemption from the Provincial Health Officer.
  • Valid BC driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
  • Deescalation training and indigenous cultural competency training are recommended.

Hours of Work and Considerations

Hours:
Saturday and Sunday, 4:00pm to 12:30am which includes an unpaid 30-minute meal break.

Location:
On location at the Marine Drive office in North Vancouver.

Salary:
$38-$42 per hour depending on experience.
