Scope:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Technical Specialist to oversee the administration, monitoring, management, implementation, and support of critical technologies within Ambulance Communication Centres (ACC). In this role, you will provide technical expertise in emergency dispatch systems, telecommunications, and information technology to ensure efficient and effective emergency response operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the administration, monitoring, and support of desktops, network, and server environments within ACC.
Coordinate and support integrated 911 solutions including CAD, radio, phone, GIS, and paging systems.
Execute and support emergency continuity of operations (COOP) plans for 911 dispatch centres.
Provide 24/7 on-site and remote support for ambulance dispatching equipment statewide.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to implement technology projects and solutions.
Offer technical subject matter expertise in projects involving radio systems, telecom, satellite communications, and digital voice recording.
Provide realistic work estimates, capture business requirements, and update business rules based on project needs.

Required Qualifications:

Technical diploma or degree in electronics technology or related field from a recognized institute/college.
Extensive practical experience applying theories and principles of voice, data, radio, and information technology.
Strong knowledge of integrated voice and data switching systems, computer data communications, and radio-trunking systems.
Proficiency in analyzing results and conducting cost-benefit analysis.
Experience with Radio Frequency test equipment and vehicle electrical systems relative to radio installations.
Solid understanding of desktop hardware components, operating systems, LAN/WAN configurations, and server services.
Familiarity with ITIL incident, problem, asset, and change management practices.
Knowledge of emergency health services, ambulance communications, and associated standards/policies.
Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation such as the Ambulance Act.

Desired Skills:

Experience working within a public sector or health services IT environment.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and time management practices.
Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support for complex telecommunications systems.
Proficiency in telecommunications installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
