About the Role


The Secretary provides senior-level, confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Chair of Indigenous Studies, the supervisor, Department committees, and Department faculty.

The position responds to requests for information and handles routine and general problems.

This role acts as recording secretary for departmental and ad-hoc committees and meetings and provides support in the administration of various faculty-related budgets, funds, grants, and special purpose budgets.

The Secretary assists with faculty appointments, renewals, tenure and promotion, leaves and salary review tasks and processes as well as providing general office coverage and office reception services.
