Youth After-School Program Leader
BGC St. Alban's Club is looking for enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated individuals to work in our youth programs.

Your role as a Youth Program Leader will be to provide a safe and supportive environment for program participants 12-18 years of age.

Program components include education, recreation, social activities, sports, mentoring and creative arts. This position is located at our Main Clubhouse at 843 Palmerston Avenue.

Responsibilities:

Plan, organize and lead a group of teens
Create and facilitate fun, creative and inclusive activities for all participants
Complete appropriate administrative tasks in a timely manner (i.e. attendances and headcounts)
Developing and planning programs for youth between the ages of 12 and 18 years
Help to ensure the safety and security of the members and assist in responding to critical incidents as outlined in the Club's policies and procedures
Participate in staff training and orientation sessions
Ensuring the safety and supervision of participants at all times
Dealing with conflicts and behavior management immediately using corrective techniques as discussed in training
Report to and takes direction from Program Manager and Supervisors
Maintain professional relationships with peers, members, volunteers, parents and other Club members
Assist Program Coordinator with outreach and recruitment at schools such as presentations, posting flyers, and information workshops

Qualifications:

Educational background applicable to the position
Experience working with youth 12 to 18 year olds
Strong skills in one or more of the following areas: sports and recreation, mentorship, and creative arts.
Strong supervision and program planning skills
Good decision making and problem solving skills
Current First-Aid and CPR training
Police Reference Check to be completed upon hiring
High Five
Principles of Healthy Child Development to be completed upon hiring
Valid driver's license is a strong asset

Contract Period:
September 5h June 28th, 2024

Hours:
Up to 20 hours a week (Monday-Friday)

Wages:
Starting at $16.50/hour
