The Job
We're looking for an Accounting Assistant who loves working in a supportive finance role. Attention to detail and a "can-do" attitude are a must. You are great at following guidelines and instructions, as well as figuring things out on your own. You're friendly, team-oriented and take pride in producing accurate work. Your primary duties are accounts payable and receivable, as well as credit card reconciliations.

As you gain confidence in your tasks, you'll be given more responsibility and the opportunity to grow in this finance role.


Some of the things you'll be doing:

  • Verifying invoices and check requests
  • Sorting, coding and matching invoices with purchase orders
  • Entering and uploading invoices into accounting system
  • Preparing monthly cheque runs
  • Ensuring payments are made in a timely manner
  • Posting transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
  • Resolving discrepancies
  • Supporting the office team

Experience and Qualifications:


  • 35 years' experience in an office environment and in a finance support role
  • Payables and Receivables experience
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Experience with Sage 300 is an asset, but if you've used Quickbooks and are a quick learner, we're happy to train you in the new software

Salary:
$63,050.00-$68,300.00 per year
