About the Role:
We are looking for an analytical, detail oriented and motivated Purchasing Coordinator to join our team The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for sourcing a variety of products for the Shipping Supplies division of our company.
This position is vital in procuring cost effective solutions for our customers along with building and maintaining strong relationships with our vendors.

Established in 1982, Great Little Box Company is a family-owned and operated leading manufacturer of Labels, Corrugated Boxes & Displays, Folding Cartons, KBA, Digital Packaging, Protective Packaging, and the distribution of Shipping Supplies.
Responsibilities:
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to understand the marketplace we service, vendors who service it, and source products to meet company needs.
- Assist with negotiating terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, deadlines, expectations, etc.
- Ensuring Vendor price increases are applied in the system following protocol as laid out in the "Shipping Supplies Price Increase Procedure".
- Setting prices in line with desired gross profit margin by product group and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure On-Time delivery goals are met by ordering product as required and following up on outstanding purchase orders
- Ongoing review of reorder points for stock item inventories so that adequate inventory is kept on hand without exceeding expected inventory turns.
- Actively seeking new / alternative suppliers for inventoried products and sourcing new suppliers for products that fit into the Company's market niche.
- Forecast and conduct reviews to check price discrepancies/savings, service support and overall effectiveness of the program.
- Responding to sourcing requests in a timely fashion from Customer Service and Account Managers for new and existing products.
- Creating inventory codes and maintaining accurate supplier records
- Assisting in developing the Account Managers and CSC's product knowledge through the creation of training literature, seminars, and developing Vendor sponsored training support.
- Assist in developing KPI's and other dashboard metrics to quantify results
- Manages other initiatives as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in purchasing
- High School Diploma; Postsecondary education in a relative field or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
- Excellent computer literacy skills and skills in MS Office Suite
- Experience with JDE, Oracle or similar ERP required
- Ability to exceed internal and external guest expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Able to work independently and as part of a diverse team
- Exceptional negotiation skills
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) an asset
- Prior experience within packaging and manufacturing is an asset
