    The company is a privately owned Canadian enterprise that operates several production facilities throughout Canada. Approximately 60 employees are based at the head office, with 14 individuals being members of the accounting team.

    Responsibilities

    As Accounts Payable Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of Accounts Payable Coordinators and will play a pivotal role in optimizing and streamlining accounts payable procedures, implementing best practices, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.

    In addition, the role involves ensuring the timely and precise preparation of financial reports and statements.

    The individual will play a key role in supporting financial operations, including activities such as month-end closings, analysis, and reporting.

    In this Accounts Payable Manager role in Cambridge, ON you will have the following day-to-day responsibilities:


    • Ensure the smooth running of the Accounts Payable functions.
    • Lead, support, and coach a team of Accounts Payable coordinators.
    • Lead the A/P month-end closing process.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and ensure standard procedures are properly documented.
    • Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of month-end financial accounting duties and reporting.
    • Support in the preparation of journal entries and closing reconciliations.
    • Working alongside the Finance team members to ensure monthly reports are accurate and investigate and resolve any discrepancies or unusual items.
    • Assist in the annual budgeting process.
    • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders; continuous support and communication will be required.
    • Perform ad hoc accounting duties as required.
    Qualifications
    As the successful candidate for the Accounts Payable Manager role in Cambridge, ON you will demonstrate the following qualifications:


    • A post-secondary education in business or accounting.
    • Deep functional knowledge in Finance
    • 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
    • 3-5 years of proven work experience in leading the Accounts Payable team. - MUST HAVE
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, leading and coaching a team. - MUST HAVE
    • Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
