As a People and Culture Consultant [16-month contract] your responsibilities will include:

  • Actively supporting the implementation of our People and Culture strategy including talent attraction, engagement and development
  • Providing extraordinary internal client service for cyclical or event based processes and projects, including growth plan review, compensation or exiting
  • Engaging our People Managers to inspire and develop talent as well as grow their coaching and management skills
  • Supporting workforce, succession and growth planning through proactive analysis and provide recommendations to leaders
  • Providing support to the business unit on the firm's talent management and HRIS system, Workday, including reporting
  • Collaborating with our Inclusiveness Partner and Committee to achieve the Firm's Leading Inclusively mission
  • Engage colleagues within the New Brunswick and Nova Scotia business units (When safe to do so traveling to our locations in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia for attraction, engagement and development opportunities will be required).
  • Providing Orientation/Onboarding (as required) within the business unit and working with stakeholders to ensure an integrated and exceptional experience for all new hires
  • Communicating in effective and meaningful ways internally and externally on a regular basis to drive the success of the People and Culture strategy
  • Developing and creating proactive measures to increase the experience for our people)

This role can be in Moncton, New Brunswick or Halifax, Nova Scotia.

  • Minimum 35 years Human Resource experience required
  • Postsecondary education required; CPHR/HRrelated degree/diploma and/or professional services experience is an asset
  • Strong working knowledge of current employment legislation and current HR theories and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience building rapport and coaching people managers/leaders to elevate their coaching skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment where every day is different and you effectively balance the calmness with a sense of urgency
  • Passion and talent for the full spectrum of human resources functions
  • Maintenance of strict confidentiality as required in the role
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team
  • Solid judgment and effective interpersonal skills; proven ability to inspire a team, articulate a vision and influence stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and time management discipline
  • High levels of diplomacy, tact and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation/facilitation skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
