Position Information:


  • The Manager, Health Record Services oversees all aspects of health records management that support a complete, accurate and timely health record that is compliant with the Public Hospitals Act and Personal health Information Protection Act (Ontario).
  • Leading the Health Record Services teams corporately, this role will focus on maintaining the integrity of the health record by processing and/or supporting paper or electronically generated/received documentation including organizational support of point of care scanning, report distribution and health record retention/destruction. They will ensure appropriate access to PHI by patients, circle of care and other authorized recipients; protecting the security and integrity of health records while providing professional delivery of health record services to all stakeholders.
  • This role will also be responsible for the clinical documentation improvement program that focuses on targeted documentation completion and improvement interventions to continually improve the quality of clinical documentation that serves data collection/coding, communication between care providers and our legal obligation to document care provided. They will work collaboratively with their colleagues to facilitate health care delivery, release of bodies, patient safety, decision support and funding.

Rotation/Shifts:


  • Days, 8 hour shifts

What you will bring:


  • Four (4) year undergraduate degree in health information management, health informatics, health administration or another relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Experience working with various information systems and related technology and associated dashboards, activity /service volume metrics and troubleshooting EMRrelated workflow issues;
  • Strong leadership ability to collaborate, engage teams and execute on action plans;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral & written) to effectively communicate information to all levels of staff;
  • Demonstrates the TOH values in their work and interpersonal relationships;
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills;
  • Ability to analyze, monitor and understand automated systems, analyze and present data;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills in dealing with fluctuating deadlines and priorities

You will stand out with:


  • Strong foundations in quality improvement leadership;
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional and/or Certified with Canadian College of Health Information Management;
  • Proficiency in speaking and comprehending both English and French (Level B+).
