Requirements:


Cheme's IT Manager is a technical professional who is responsible and accountable for the effectiveness, connectivity, and data integrity of our information systems.

The IT Manager ensures the cost effective and smooth operation of the business and drives strategic initiatives for new technology adoption that allow Cheme to improve its services to our clients.


As the primary IT professional at Cheme, the IT Manager will be responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring and maintaining corporate hardware, software and any related infrastructure.

This includes creating all plans for ensuring functionality, data consistency, security and usability of systems aligned with the organization's priorities and enabling Company employees to do their work effectively whether at the office, home, or at a client site.


  • This role will be supporting multiple office locations (Vaughan and Milton) and will be required to travel between offices, as required._

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage information technology and computer systems, including maintenance of inventory and spares, as well as initiating IT purchases
  • Monitor the performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement solutions for IT needs
  • Define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes in line with good IT practices as well as contribute to applicable policies
  • Manage user accounts, creating, updating and removing access as necessary including hardware/software set up for new hires
  • Update and maintain an ERP system using SQL
  • Keep up to date with IT developments and innovations and make recommendations on which to adopt
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT and provide IT related support to staff promptly
  • Provide systems administration to servers, firewalls and backupsProvide communications to staff on IT updates as needed and develop and deliver IT training materials from time to time
  • Liaise with supporting IT departments in sister and parent companies

Qualifications:


  • 58 years of experience as an IT Manager or relevant experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
  • Strong critical thinking, decisionmaking and communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
  • Selfmotivated and proactive in making IT recommendations and taking action
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
  • Experience in VB, SQL and report generation
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
