Training Instructor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Delivers standardized and specialized training seminars with training curriculum created by headquarters including the communication of appropriate safety precautions for robot operation
  • Identifies curriculum errors, areas of improvement and proposes document changes
  • Tests trainees and internal personnel to measure progress, evaluate training effectiveness and provide ongoing training recommendations
  • Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to keep abreast of the industry and for benchmarking purposes
  • Works with Technical Support and Engineers to fully understand the technical and safe operation of KUKA Robot products for purposes of course design
  • Provides multilevel lecture and laboratory training to customers and KUKA personnel
  • Provides recommendations on training work procedures
  • Occasional intercontinental and international travel of varying length required
  • Maintains training records in conjunction with ISO requirements
  • Maintains, prepares, updates, configures, and repairs robot lab equipment
  • Prepares robots and materials for shipment for onsite training sessions
  • Provides field support for troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and programming of industrial robots and related equipment as needed
  • Performs inhouse, onsite and/or telephone troubleshooting, repairs (electrical, mechanical, programming) and support of KUKA equipment on an asneeded basis; and completes Field Service reports
  • Understands and follows safety regulations and identifies safety concerns
  • Assists other departments and participates in department meetings when required
  • Adheres to the Quality System and participates in continuous improvement

Required Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of a college or university degree with minimum of three (3) years related robotic automation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience with KUKA Robotics is a definite asset
  • Training experience is considered an asset

Must possess a valid driver's license, vehicle and passport for international travel as required

  • Experienced robotics technician, especially regarding programming and safety integration
  • Experienced in advanced computer, robot (KRL or equivalent, VisualBasic, C+, C') and PLC (Siemens and Rockwell) programming
  • Skilled in low voltage electronics, troubleshooting and in the use of basic tools and mechanical teardown of mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, electronic, etc. prints and other related technical documentation
  • Punctual, reliable and independently driven
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new technology and industry practices
  • Strong teamwork and mentoring skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Adobe
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Must understand and be able to communicate necessary safety precautions for the safe operation of robots
