Are you seeking a Team Lead role where you can work closely with the team and other internal partners to promote and protect the health of Ontarians? Do you have expertise in policy analysis, strategy development and project management? Do you have strong skills to develop and present briefing materials to senior leaders?


If so, consider this opportunity with the Health Protection, Policy and Partnerships Branch of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Public Health, Ministry of Health, where you will support and evaluate Ontario's public health protection and prevention policies regarding, infectious diseases in Ontario.

What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

  • Provide management leadership and coordination on issues from prevention to evaluation
  • Identify, develop and maintain constructive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Develop presentations and training/briefing materials to stakeholders, both internal and external and all levels of government

How do I qualify?:


Leadership and Project Management Skills:


  • You have experience leading and managing the development of policy, programs and initiatives
  • You have experience providing leadership in policy and program development, delivery and implementation
  • You can champion project management approaches, coach staff and provide advice in a fast paced environment
  • You can effectively complete project deliverables from initial concept through completion in a fast paced environment

Issues Management:


  • You seek out and effectively analyze information to understand key business issues to identify potential solutions that could impact Ontario's public health system
  • You can facilitate resolution of contentious issues working collaboratively with stakeholders

Research, Evaluation and Analytical Skills:


  • You demonstrate sound judgment, sensitivity and a high degree of political acuity
  • You can assess the effectiveness of policies/programs against Ministry initiatives and goals
  • You support change by seeking out new ideas, developing innovations, conducting risk assessments and creating strategic solutions

Relationship Management and Communication:


  • You have expertise in creating and managing complex stakeholder relationships
  • You can work collaboratively to resolve issues, negotiate changes and shifts in priorities
  • You can lead consultations with stakeholders ensuring a shared understanding
  • You can respond to issues, provide recommendations and prepare reports
  • You can create, lead and present briefings on complex issues analysis to senior management

Health Care Knowledge:


  • You have understanding of Ontario's healthcare system, encompassing its goals, mission, pertinent legislation, and policies, while also addressing the dynamic landscape of healthcare, including emerging trends and challenges (ex infectious disease management, outbreaks).
  • You have an understanding of critical issues and concerns faced by the health care system to ensure policies, programs, regulations and legislation support the steps to promote and protect the health of Ontarians (ex food safety, infectious disease)
