WHAT YOU WILL DO

1. Employee Relations

  • Partners with management to support and maintain a positive employee relations strategy.
  • Facilitates progressive discipline process, including approving documentation and where necessary attending discipline meetings with employee and manager.
  • Collects and maintains all information respective to employee files, concerns, grievances, discipline, leaves of absence in a centralized People Services area.
  • Counsels and assists managers on the requirement and benefits of a progressive discipline process and ensures it is followed.
  • Assists managers with conflict resolution, employee relations, and embracing/demonstrating REAL's culture and values.
  • Provides guidance to managers on provincial employment standards, employment law, workers compensation, human rights, and privacy protection.
  • Collects, and organizes employee data monthly for Leadership analysis.
  • Advises and trains managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances. Works with People Services Team to develops further training as needed.
  • Supports and manages employee concerns and complaints. Follows the REAL factfinding and investigation process.
  • Support all REAL employees with counselling services utilizing the Employee & Family Assistance Program

2. Performance Management

  • Oversee the completion of the Inscope feedback and evaluation cycle with Business Unit Managers
  • Supports the outofscope annual evaluation cycle.
  • Maintain accurate evaluation records of employee performance, and training plans.
  • Support Business Unit Managers with employee performance concerns relating to REAL job role expectations, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct exit interviews.

3. Leave Management

  • Support all REAL employees with leave administration programs relating to family, medical, special leave of absence, maternity, paternity, short term, and longterm disability.
  • Directly liaise with the Benefits and Compensation business unit to provide all necessary documentation to support a timely leave process for all employees.
  • Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work, relays communication between employees, managers, and scheduling department.
  • Oversee the returntowork process for employees returning from extended leaves.
  • Facilitates accommodation requests.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
  • Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.

4. Time and Attendance

  • Supports Management with employee time and attendance issues.
  • Monitors vacation accrual monthly
  • Supports the Human Resource Coordinator with running the 6month termination list.

_Work hours are Monday - Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm. This is a 6 months termed position with the possibility of an extension._

Requirements:


WHAT IT TAKES

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources
  • A minimum 4 years of related employee relations, performance management, and leave management experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment will be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan Employment Act, Canadian Human Rights Act, Workers Compensation, and other relevant provincial legislation.
  • Understanding of best practices specific to labour relations, and performance management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work well in a fastpaced environment and adapt to change.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Strong organizational skills in record management.
  • Strong timemanagement skills and a proven track record of delivering quality results, with attention to details.
  • Computer proficiency required including Excel, Word, Outlook, databases, and the internet. Experience with Worklinks, Workable and Kronos/Dimensions is an asset.
  • Independent, creative selfstarter with ability to initiate and adapt to new ideas.
  • Excellent decisionmaking skills.
  • Knowledge of events and entertainment industry considered an asset.
