- Working as an Unregulated Health Care Provider in a clinical area, the program will enhance clinical skills, critical thinking, and understanding.
- The Clinical Extern will gain practical experience in basic patient care duties while contributing to our clinical programs.
- Assigned to an identified mentor within the team and reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Extern will work to understand the professional role and support the team at the patient care level.
- Working in an Interprofessional team environment, the Clinical Extern will maintain privacy and confidentiality, while being an enthusiastic student focused on patients and families.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Physiotherapy Therapy program.
- An official school transcript will be required for interviews.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills are a must with the ability to prioritize and take initiative.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Flexible to work all shifts as needed in a fast-paced setting.
- Must have a solid performance record.

Overview
Land acknowledgement: Oak Valley Health honours the traditional territory of the closest Indigenous communities, the Chippewas of Georgina Island and the Mississaugas of Scugog Island. The Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe have lived, worked, and existed on this land from time immemorial. This land is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaty signed with many Mississauga and Chippewa bands.
