The Office of Equity supports NorQuest's strategic commitment to becoming an inclusive, anti-racist, and decolonized organization.

Focusing on EDI, Anti-Racism, and Decolonial Indigenization, the Office of Equity strives to promote sustainable systemic change that reduces barriers in higher education and creates greater access for all.


Reporting to the Director of Equity, with reporting ties to the President & CEO as well as the Board of Governors, the Safe Disclosure Advisor will provide expertise in the development and operationalization of the Safe Disclosure Office.

This includes the development and updating of policies, procedures and operational plans to support the successful of the Safe Disclosure Office within NorQuest College.

The individual will be the first point of contact for any disclosures that come to the Safe Disclosure Office and will work with the Safe Disclosure Team to foster trauma-informed processes.

This position will also develop and deliver awareness sessions, create resources, conduct stakeholder consultation and cross-departmental integration to support the successful integration and on-going work of the Safe Disclosure Office into college processes.


HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Lead and coordinate with Safe Disclosure Team as well as key stakeholders such as HR, Compliance, and the Office of Student Judicial Affairs (OSJA).
  • Ensure safe disclosure best practices are implemented, fair process followed, and antiretaliation measures are included in intake process.
  • Implement, update, and oversee the continuously improvement of the disclosure intake process.
  • Educate involved parties in the process, including approximate timelines to create realistic expectations in partnership with key internal stakeholders.
  • Work with individuals that come forward with a disclosure to identify which, if any policy(s), process(es) or program(s) are in breach and require additional measures to be taken.
  • Develop and deliver a robust education and awareness program about effective and empathetic disclosure practices for NorQuest community.
  • Work with campus stakeholders, (ie, Alberta Union of Public Employees and Faculty Association, SANQC) to understand their processes and or supports.
  • Create reporting system that complies and tracks institutional trends to support the creation of recommendations.
  • Analyze disclosure data to identify systemic inequities and barriers at NQ and report to the Director of Equity and President & CEO
  • Liaise with other Departments and services within NorQuest to build relationships and ensure integrated approach to program and service delivery.
  • Maintain positive clientcentric relationships with external community agencies to support appropriate referrals.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A bachelor's degree in a field of study related to Arts, Business, Human Resources equity, human rights, diversity and inclusion or adult education. A master's degree in a field related of study is preferred.
  • 3+ years of direct experience within a Safe Disclosure Office or other disclosure processes.
  • Work experience supporting mental health from a traumainformed, anticolonial, antioppressive lens.
  • Information security and records management experience, requiring a high level of confidentiality.
  • Experience assessing and responding to specific client needs and shifting environment.

  • A strong aptitude in network and relationship building within NorQuest and with external community organizations to promote referrals to community.
  • An ability to assist with the implementation and daytoday operations of the Safe Disclosure Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated competency in developing learning and awareness resources/mediums to support the functions within the Safe Disclosure Office.
  • A strong data gathering and reporting background.

SALARY:
$2,966- $3,707 bi-weekly reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full time 6 month term position immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
