How will you make an impact


As a Service Equipment Compliance Specialist, one will manage internal assets enabling the team to deliver consistently excellent service to our customers.


What will you do

  • Manage tools and equipment within the Thermo Fisher Scientific network to ensure compliance is met and maintained.
  • Review of the accuracy of incoming calibration certificates from outside vendors.
  • Information manager for company assets to ensure database accuracy and upload of certificates in the system of record.
  • Work with thirdparty calibration suppliers to coordinate equipment returns, monitor supplier performance and track performance determined from Quality Agreements.
  • Assist teams in the purchase of tools and consumables when required.
  • Process Third Party POs and invoices and assist field teams to implement open POs where needed.
  • Support teams to ensure appropriate calibrations are conducted on field tools as per business unit requirements.
  • Support the Quality Group to ensure Third Party suppliers are onboarded and maintained.
  • Process ARC (Add, Remove, Change) Forms received from the field for tools addition and removal from the program.
  • Process Calibration Alarms when tools are found out of tolerance or in a failed state.
  • Operate as the central contact for equipment management activities and communicate with internal and external suppliers to ensure adequate service is being received.
  • Assist the Metrology group in updating statistical process charts and calibration template data.
  • Keep related important metric data up to date and report monthly.
  • Work from verbal and written instructions and information supplemented by technical job knowledge and experience.
  • Prepare calibration data reports, data sheets, and other required documentation.
  • Resolve problems through collaborating with internal customers, vendors, and management.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
  • Support the Quality Team and represent the Metrology Group and other business units in equipment management related internal and external audits.

How will you get there?

Education

  • A minimum of a College Diploma (any stream
  • Statistical, Engineering, Science etc.)

Experience

  • 1 year of experience in handling a library of assets or inventory control.
  • Attention to detail and ensured document accuracy.
  • Proven independent work experience.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO/IEC 17025 is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Vital to Perform Responsibilities

  • Position requires the individual to be capable of selfmanagement.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Knowledge of computer tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • The site position requires no travel.
  • Bilingual English and French preferred.

Working Conditions:


  • Works primarily in an office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, storage locations and laboratory environments.
  • Will be required to sit for long periods of time while performing repetitive work,
  • May be required to lift 50 lbs.
  • May be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks.
  • Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets and/or safety gloves.
  • Some areas require steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glasses.
  • Must be able to work hours required to get the job done.
