SUMMARY - _Human Resources Manager_**
_ Shift:_ Monday to Friday; 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM


The TransX Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join the HR team in our Winnipeg Office.

Reporting to the Vice-President, Human Resources and partnering with the existing Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Manager will provide proactive and strategic HR consultation, advice and expertise to company leadership and employees

This position works with internal clients to identify needs, assess risks and requirements and develop people solutions.

The Human Resources Manager collaborates and consults with internal / external stakeholders on a variety of HR functions, related operations and issues such as employee and labor relations, learning and development, recruitment, classification and compensation as well as participating in special projects or initiatives.

This role acts as a culture and brand ambassador for the organization and ensures compliance with policies, schedules and all applicable legislation.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Employee and Labour Relations
  • Provide advice and coaching to managers and/or employees regarding HR services and programs (e.g. performance improvement, progressive discipline, etc.) conduct investigations, and draft disciplinary letters.
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of metrics and data to create solutions to address specific needs, ensuring the maintenance of a positive employee relations climate through the development of policies and programs to improve employee satisfaction; the implementation of activities to assess climate/culture; the promotion of inclusive communication practices; and the resolution of employee issues through the effective use of open door, and investigation and counselling techniques.
  • HRIS & Organizational Development
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and improve the organization's policies, procedures, and metrics, ensuring they're consistently aligned with all applicable requirements and laws.
  • Ensure effective and efficient administration in the areas of employee records and HRIS; WCB/WSIB claims management; compensation, benefits and other employment programs.
  • Leverage internal and external systems and platforms (e.g. intranet, social media, etc.) to promote Corporate and/or Human Resources related programs.
  • Standardize processes and documents to make the experience smoother and more streamlined for internal clients.
  • Training & Development
  • Develop, source and deliver training programs and provide advice and resources on training/education/career development options.
  • Conduct training needs analysis where appropriate and ensure the tracking of all corporate training/developmental activities

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

_ Education_

  • Postsecondary education in Human Resources, Bachelor's degree, Diploma or Certificate or in a field related to Human Resources Management, organizational studies, or business management/administration.
  • Professional designation in Human Resources an asset.

_ Experience_

  • 57 years of progressive human resource experience, with 3+ years' experience in an HR leadership position, leading and developing a team of HR professionals.
  • Experience working in a Federallyregulated business, with strong knowledge of the Canada Labour Code a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to build and document departmental processes, workflows and SLAs to increase operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Strong understanding of HRIS systems, preferably ADP
  • Experience leading or partnering in projects and change initiatives, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders to build consensus.
  • Experience leading workplace investigations.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills.
