Reporting to the Continuous Improvement & Sustainability Manager, the CI Associate is a key member of the Catalent team responsible for the coordination and delivery of continuous improvement projects.

The CI Associate is responsible for driving efficiency gains by enhancing employee training, procedures, process and equipment optimization, maintenance, and other excellence initiatives.


This position is located in Strathroy, Ontario, one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries.

We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.

Regular working hours: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM or 8:30 AM-5:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch


The Role

  • Utilize CI Tools such as 5S, Kaizen and Maintenance Excellence to lead initiatives that directly impact Safety, Service, Quality, Cost and Speed.
  • Supporting technical training for operators to reduce changeover, setup and improve operating efficiency.
  • Support to crossfunctional projects to facilitate implementation of new equipment and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver CI savings identified through CI projects.
  • Establish and conduct regular 5S audits to monitor compliance and instill behavior changes.
  • Drive equipment uptime through identifying proactive maintenance activities, enhancing a culture of equipment care, identifying and prioritizing opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead projects to support the sustainability goals for the sites in Ontario.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Minimum three 3+ years' experience working as a technical resource in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience working in continuous improvement is preferred.
  • Experience supporting new equipment introductions and developing of operator training plans for new equipment is an asset.
  • CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is preferred.
  • Project coordination experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and complete projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Excellent project leadership, decisionmaking, problem solving, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, build trust and respect within the overall organization.
  • Resourceful, innovative, and persuasive.
  • Flexibility to shift priorities quickly and effectively manage simultaneous requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and complete assigned projects independently.
  • The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
  • The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend, or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and occasionally bend and lift <20kg.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee is required to stand for long.
