About Potash


BHP's Jansen Potash Project, located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP's first and most advanced potash project.

Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP's global portfolio. Jansen's large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.


Purpose:


BHP is looking for an enthusiastic Specialist Planner to develop capability and gain meaningful exposure in a large global organization.

They will have a unique opportunity to provide support to senior project leaders in developing and managing the leadership team, and supporting key leadership in planning the direction of delivery and decision making.

About the Role:


In this role, you will:

  • Establish and maintain routines with project teams, functions, asset, contractors, and regions based on an understanding of key integration points to enable regular collaboration for enhanced outcomes
  • Support administrative activities including the development and delivery of work plans, execution of administrative functions/communications, essential data management practices and the fostering of a positive team culture to drive efficiency across operational routines
  • Support senior leaders across all aspects of the team's work by planning, coordinating and attending engagements, and recording and tracking actions plans to schedule
  • Proactively monitor team plans by prioritizing critical activities against the project timeline to enable timely complex project delivery
  • Anticipate potential consequences of problems based on an understanding of the leader role/business; proactively propose solutions and draft relevant communications to reduce risks and potential negative outcomes
  • Support the team to identify patterns across a variety of complex information sources, including both qualitative and quantitative information
  • Identify, implement and evaluate the success of continuous improvement initiatives to improve the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of BHP systems and processes
  • Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders

Work Location:

Downtown, Saskatoon; 40 hours per week, parking is provided on-site.


About You:


  • Inprogress or completed undergraduate degree (science, technology, engineering, math, business, or related discipline) from a recognized postsecondary education institution is preferred, but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build working relationships with teams and stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Embraces an attitude as a selfstarter, with an eye for detail and agility to change
  • Strong project management skills, from ideation to completion, with the ability to work flexibly across teams and stakeholders
  • Expresses confidence in their abilities, shares creative new ideas, and believes in the value they provide to the team
